Who we are

ShareCart lets couples and households create, share, and manage grocery lists in real time using Apple's CloudKit infrastructure.

This policy describes what information is involved when you use ShareCart and how it is handled.

Data we collect

ShareCart does not collect, store, or process any personal data on our own servers. The only data involved in the app is stored in your personal iCloud account, managed entirely by Apple.

iCloud & CloudKit

ShareCart uses Apple's CloudKit framework to sync your data across devices and share lists with your partner. This means:

• Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, not on any server we operate.
• Sharing between you and your partner is handled end-to-end by Apple's infrastructure.

Camera & price scanning

ShareCart includes a price scanner that uses your device's camera to read price labels in the supermarket. Here is exactly how it works:

• The camera opens only when you explicitly tap the scan button on an item.
• Text recognition is performed entirely on-device.
• No images or video frames are ever saved to disk, uploaded to a server, or shared with any third party.
• The detected price is attached to the item in your local CloudKit record and synced via iCloud.
